We have passed the 6-month mark of full-timing in our 27’ Airstream. Some ideas we thought sounded great at the time haven’t proven so useful or have even been downright duds. Others are performing better than anticipated, which is particularly valuable when it comes to the unique challenges of RV organization.
Today’s shared tip highlights the usefulness of suction hooks. We originally purchased chrome baskets that used these suction cups to mount in the shower and kitchen to organize cleaning and cooking essentials. While the baskets provided only limited utility for our purposes, the suction cups fitted with hanging hooks are proving to have endless uses. They have earned a permanant spot in our multi-tasker tool kit.
Simply place one on a flat, non-porous surface and twist the knob to secure.
Some will say the 3M Command hooks and adhesive can do the same job, but we found we have re-positioned and repurposed these hooks so many times that repeatedly buying more disposable adhesive strips wasn’t practical. We do like the 3M hooks for some jobs, just not when it comes to reconfiguring our setup as we continue to evolve and learn more about what works best for us.
These hooks are larger and hold more weight than other repositionable solutions (up to 22 pounds). They also go up quickly to hold light things, like the odds and ends that we use at bedtime.
Do you have a favorite RV hanging solution? We’d love hear about it in the comments.
